It’s been awhile since I posted but I have still been reading a decent amount. I’m also starting a new job so that’s been a bit of a distraction.
I did a lot of re-reading this last month or so since I wanted to experience some old favorites.
So, here’s what I’ve read:
Harry Potter Books 3 and 4
Who hasn’t read Harry Potter about a million times over again? I wanted to read books 3-7 again (already read the first two a month ago) Well, I enjoyed three and four just as much this time around. It’s always nice to experience Hogwarts again.
The Lightening Thief (Percy Jackson #1)
I didn’t read this book until I was an adult but I still enjoyed. Admittedly, the writing is clearly for children but it’s still a lot of fun to read. I also thought it was neat how it touched on ADHD and dyslexia. I’ll likely be continuing the series.
Happy Sugar Life Vol. 1 (Manga)
Now after the light-hearted fantasy reads I then read a very disturbing Manga. Don’t let the title fool you, Happy Sugar Life is a psychological horror about a teenager that falls in love with and kidnaps a child. She’s willing to murder and everything to keep the girl. It’s not really explicit but still creepy in concept. Not sure I’d recommend.
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
A long time ago I bought a bulk of Sarah Dessen books. However, this is only the second one I’ve read. I got to admit I was bored and it was a struggle to get through. Maybe Dessen just isn’t for me. I’m not sure I’ll give her another shot.
Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J Maas
It’s been about a year since I read the first book in this series. I did like it but my enthusiasm for reading the second was kind of low. I probably should have read the first book again because the second one just wasn’t as fun.
That’s all I read recently and I’m currently reading Bloodline by Sidney Sheldon (I loved his book, Master of the Game). I’ll probably do a review of it too.
